Funny girl

Lauren was hamming it up this morning. She seems like a giant next to Max!

Here's Max

Here's Max!!! He still has his oxygen in and the white tube is his feeding tube. They've capped off his feedings at a whopping 30 mLs (1 oz) for now because he's started to spit up more than he should, but he's maintaining his weight and doing really well. I got my first spit up all over me today, so exciting. He loves to cuddle and gets really mad when we change his pants. They took off the oxygen for about 30 minutes today, but he's not quite ready to have it off. We're at about 27 % oxygen with a level 3 pressure, but we'll start weening him off in another day or two. The funny circles on the sides of his face are just to hold the nasal canula onto his face, but they don't stop him from trying to rip it out of his nose. He's not a fan of that dumb thing up his nose. Dang he's fiesty!!! More pix to come soon!!!

Pictures

Pretty soon I will figure out how to post pix. Plus, it doesn't help that the kids got a hold of the camera and deleted alot of my pix. Cry.

Tony and I

So, needless to say, Tony and I are both pooped. We can't wait for Max to get home and things to get back to normal. Tony's, of course, working hard all the time. He keeps me sain by keeping me laughing. I'm trying to juggle all my time between being home enough and being at the hospital enough. My blood pressure has now become too low and every time I stand up I feel like I'm going to pass out. NICE! But all in all Tony and I are doing great.

Lauren

What a funny girl. I don't quite know where to start with this one. She's learning alot, fast!!! Especially how to get her way. She loves to sing songs, and spin in circles. Tony loves to get her to spin really fast and then try to run to mommy. The poor child is going to loose major brain cells from hitting her head so many times. She's learned tons of words, but her fav is to sign the word "more" and if you don't know what she wants more of...you're toast. She's really good at making us laugh and drinking all your soda. She has no clue that Max is a real live baby and will soon be coming home to stay...but I'm sure she love baby "AAP" and smuther him as much as she can.

Dallin

Dallin continues to be Dallin. He's full of energy, and everything he decides to do, he does well. Right now he's playing T-ball. He's learning to hit coach pitch, and he's doing great! He's also doing swim lessons, and he's doing well with that, too. He's not a big fan of deep water, but who can blame him...he's so short, he can't touch the bottom. He'll start soccor in a few months, which he can't wait for. That's his fav. He loves to play on the Wii. And loves to torchure Lauren...which he's also really good at. He's my comic relief during the day. He also got to go into the NICU twice and see Max. He can't wait to be able to share his room with his little bro.

Abby

Abby is doing great! She's loving swim lessons. She's told me that she's almost drowned only twice. She's pretty excited about that. Abby will be starting piano lessons this month. She's really excited about that. We'll see how much she likes it when she has to practice every day. She's been able to go into the NICU 2 times (every Sunday) to see Max, and she can't wait to get him home so that she can help hold, feed, and change him. She's pushing hard to get dance lessons in the fall, so we'll see about that when the time comes. Abby continues to be a fantastic help at home with Lauren and everything that I ask her to do. Sometimes I wonder if I could do it without her.

Max

Max is doing great! He's gained 9 oz. and now weighs 4 lbs 6 oz. He's had to go back on oxygen, but it's okay...what Dr. Gertzman said is when the baby starts to tollerate his feedings so well, and increase the amount(he's almost taking 1 whole ounce!!), the diaphram pushes up into the lungs, and makes it alittle hard for the lungs to expand well, especially when it's a preemie that we're talking about. But, he'll grow out of needing the Oxygen soon. All the nurses are in love with him and call him super baby because he's such a fighter. Max doesn't like to be bothered. He pushes the nurses hands away if they bug him and throughs fits if they make him mad. He also acts like he's alot older than he is, and he's flying through all the steps he needs to take to get out of the hospital. He's the cutest thing in the world. He makes the funniest faces and he's actually laughed a couple of times. We are so blessed that he is so far along in his progress. We were expecting things to be so much harder for him then they were. Stay tuned for more info. He changes every day!!

Hey

Hi everybody!!! I've decided to join the crowd and start up a blog page. I know, I know, don't laugh. I have no idea what I'm doing, so just bare with me. I also thought this would be the best way to keep everyone up to date on how Max and all the kiddies are doing. Hope I don't embarrass myself too much. PS there's no critiquing my spelling. You know you love it!
